Chapter 1 - The Origin
Fade Dept. began in Toronto with one simple idea: upgrade the gear you wear every day.
We started making our own laces for Red Wing boots, and realized we weren’t alone.
People like us care about how things age. About fades, creases, and patina.
We designed Canadian flag lacekeepers, something small, useful, and proudly local.
It was the beginning of the brand.

From engraved aglets to durable paracord, we focus on the details that matter.
Each product we released: laces, lacekeepers, keychains, had to follow the Fade Dept. standard: functional, long-lasting, and better with age.
Chapter 3: Made to Fade
We expanded into Taslan and leather laces.
We partnered with makers like Kobashi Studio in Japan.
We curated rare accessories. Tools. Objects you can’t find anywhere else in Canada.
Each one chosen for its ability to wear in, not out.
